Hey, Bicentennial Babe – I had that same experience(minus having to rent a car) …that was before my two domme relationships but I did think of him when I was spanking my new subs. lol I was verrry scared in his hotel and thinking of all the episodes of Special Victims Unit! I agree – no going to a hotel to talk or for a drink no matter what his excuse….BB I am glad you got out safe!

How about a section for SD’s who are looking to be dominated? I had never tried it before joining this site, but have now had two longer-term SD’s who both reqested it…neither wanted sex. It was sexy fun but I would love to find more! : )

Thanks for the Advice BicentennialBaby! Along with your success/horror stories help out newbies like me.

  4. Bicentennial Baby says:

I can’t advise you how to initiate contact…I’m of the school of thought that the gentleman/SD (and I imagine this would apply with our sugar momma ladies too?) should initiate the email since I imagine the arrangment would likely not work if the SD/SM doesn’t find the SB attractive enough to email 1st.

An SD friend told me he often found he was flattered by ladies who contacted him first. also since he’s a travel SD he didn’t necessarily know to search some of the areas where SB’s were considering seeing him from. *However* I will say that he admitted the successful relationships in his past were all ones he had contacted his SB first.

Regarding first responding to someone, I usually read their profile FIRST and find something we have in common from that. (If there’s nothing in common or its vague, usually I just reply with a thank you but I’m currently in an arrangement reply) I’ll then tell them a short new little tidbit about myself not in my profile and invite them to tell me a little more about themselves not in their own profile, and something to the effect of “let’s chat/email and see where this goes”. if the 2nd exchange goes well, I’ll give my email address and only after 1 or 2 emails I’ll forward additional photos if things seem to go well.

Regarding the “protection” question, I had the same one but now that I’ve spoken with a real SD who does not have an issue with being safe, I realize you get what you hold out for. He replied you’d have to be stupid in this day and age NOT to use protection given the risks, the fact we’re not in a strictly monogamous situation and the fact we both don’t want to deal with unwanted issues. (the only “babie” he wants is the sugar kind!)

I have heard from other SB’s that no SD’s will use protection but I have discovered this is more of a generational thing. I’ve spoken with 2 gentlemen under 45 and both refused….I’ve since spoken with 2 both over 50 and both thought it smart.

I don’t think ALL men under 45 are that willing to take a risk, it’s just been my (brief!) experience that you run into more resistence with younger men.

  5. Arcadia says:

I just joined and have received 4 messages, all very short “how are you” one said “i’ve been an SD before and am pretty good at it” another sent me two messages, but they just send off a weird vibe…a very short profile and the is “Random”. What would you guys say is advice for someone just starting out as sugar baby, I work as a TA at a school so I can’t drop everything to meet an SD anyway. Your stories are very enlightening and helpful, the more advice the better. Especially about how to first respond to someone, or how to initiate contact with an SD profile that caught your eye. Thanks!

  6. Noir says:

@Bicentennial Baby, I’m soooo happy for you. It restores my faith in the sugar world to see someone get their sugar. Congrats, and I hope it continues to get better.

  7. Bicentennial Baby says:

Never go to a hotel room with a pot SD on the 1st date and ALWAYS listen to your instincts ladies….

I met with an individual who I had been emailing off and on for about a month, with great anticipation about the meeting. We seemed to “click” online really well, great sense of humor, high net worth (though now I have learned many wealthy men UNDERREPORT what they make whereas a lot of fakers INFLATE what they have…my pot #3 clearly makes much more than he lists on the profile…), all the classic good signs.

This is the one I was wondering about kissing and just apprehensive in general about. I learned after meeting others that I was apprehensive for a very primal reason, one I did’t know at the time. He is not a real SD.

I went up to a different state 2hrs away and rented a car to go since mine was in the shop. He agreed to cover it and I had a receipt in case he had any concerns I was less than honest about cost. We had a great meal but the conversation seemed forced as he stared at me most of it. I was dressed in a nice ruched cap sleeve top, dark jeans and gold high heels. Upscale casual, nothing tight or slutty, I’d wear this to see my mother in law.

We are about 45 min into lunch and I’m wanting dessert when he asks the lady for the check. I was disappointed he didn’t even ask if I wanted dessert (I had mentioned it twice during conversation that they had amazing ones and had ordered light to accommodate this!) but figured it was not my place to comment. I was worried since this put us out earlier than I had planned, as I didn’t want there to be TOO much time to kill after lunch to allow for going up to his room vs. saying goodbye in the lobby or at the coffee shop nearby.

He takes my hand in his and walks me back to the hotel asking “do you have any time to come up to my room and talk?” and like an IDIOT I said “um, I guess so, sure” and up we go. It’s not a room commisserate with what he says he stays in everywhere either.

Romantic music is playing in a loop on an open laptop on the table and nothing is unpacked from his luggage. I IMMEDIATELY felt a primal fear but thought I was being silly. Besides, he still needed to reimburse me for rental & gas and I didn’t want my family out that $. So I sit on the bed sweetly and ask what he would like to talk about. He then proceeds to tell me he “needs to know if there’s any chemistry” and wants to see this by a kiss which he leans in without waiting for an answer to take. I comply but still have fear in my stomach.

I get up, he follows me to the corner of the room and puts both hands on either side of me against the wall and proceeds to “check for chemistry” further until about 3 minutes of way too intense feeling me up, I slip under him and advise him I just can’t move that fast. He then begins to berate me that maybe I shouldn’t be on this site and other girls are a lot more “sure of what they want” than I am. I reply I’m just very traditional and somewhat shy until I know you….I know timetables move up in Sugarland (I’m not stupid)…but if we were dating in real life, I still wouldn’t allow this intensity and lack of respect. He says maybe you should go then, hands me $120 for my trouble and walks me down to the valet parking to get my car.

He also forgot my birthday gift that he had promised….I didn’t expect one, but he made SUCH a big deal about getting one I was thinking it was in the hotel room. Nothing ever came about. I know now the “package” he was planning as my gift wasn’t what I had in mind either!

I ate a box of Tic Tacs on the way home, it was so awful.

I’m ok now, and wonderful SD’s I’ve chatted with since have restored some of my faith in things but I will definitely NOT make that mistake again and listen to my instincts.

that my sisters is a lesson I hope all of you will learn from me. Maybe I can save someone else the anxiety/fear I endured.

  8. Bicentennial Baby says:

    Hello sugar fam!

    I think I am officially a sugarbaby!

I met pot #3 (pot #2 SD is out of town til tonight, and I am just emailing him right now, have not met yet) as many may know after a horrible experience with pot #1 which I will relate in the next post. I took a hunch I should contact him back even though I by this time was quite worried maybe ALL SD’s were going to play out this way and I am very glad I did meet him!

We had a fabulous brunch today, our 2nd meeting, about an hour from home and midway for both of us so commute to just regular meetings/dates is not far. He is looking for a travel baby, including overseas from time to time and I have a valid passport and a sense of adventure and have cleared my schedule with the other half that this will be fine. DH has seen profile of #3 and thinks he is a gentleman who fits the description of a classic SD. He’s in his 50’s and I should have gone with my 1st hunch, which is to select men older than myself esp 20+ years.

What a wonderful thing it was to have great conversation and no weird creepy feeling, and genuine attraction and enjoyment of an older man’s company! Ok he’s not all “ripped” like SD#1 and he has a few extra lbs…so what?? He’s fabulous to talk to, kind, considerate, generous and all his traits make him very handsome in my mind because he has a terrific personality too. I was able to initiate affection/kissing with him both times because he respects my space so well and he seemed truly delighted that I did.

He gave me a cute card at brunch for my birthday and I wasn’t expecting anything other than good meal & company but much to my surprise, told me that he was so delighted by my reaction he took me out shopping for a gift at Cache (which just happened to be across the street from where he had picked us to eat…coincidence? I think not *wink*). I tried on several cocktail dresses and actually the one HE selected was the best one of all which made us both happy! Naturally I wanted to pick out something classic for many different events and something I could wear for him again.

Not once did I feel awkward or anything and we have agreed to see each other to travel possibly starting in a few weeks going to California, a local trip likely inbetween perhaps to NYC on the east coast. Even better, I genuinely LIKE this gentleman and he appreciates that I’m a little traditional and very much conduct myself like a 50’s philanthropist’s wife (best description I can think of, or just a lady like Jackie O was). He mentioned how classy I am and that was exactly what he was looking for in a lady but sometimes was hard to find amongst younger women.

I can’t count my chickens before they fully hatch but I am so, so excited and I pray he doesn’t “poof”….I doubt he would since he didn’t have to buy me a thing after eating and why would he if he didn’t want to spend time with me? I would have been none the wiser.

Anyway, I have had some good fortune, so good SD’s apparently ARE out there! Now I will have to tell everyone the dark side, from earlier this week…

  11. Michael AZ Alleycat says:

I am not real big on this either – I use WordPress for other stuff as well.

I understand the business need for people to register to avoid situations like Naveen yesterday, but…..

  13. BrownEyedGal says:

I finally decided to post more photos …. see what happens!

I’m going to be busy for a little while with emails and might have one date coming up too soon!

  14. admin says:

The new features should be active by the middle of this week. A few of you caught glimpses of the new features last week when we were testing them out. They should be all rolled out by the end of next week! Thank you for your patience.

  15. Midwest SB says:

We’re laughing our asses off right now and Midwest has rocking legs according louboutins!

  16. Midwest SB says:

JSB,NYC sb and I are not doing yoga Sunday instead, we will recover from 3 girls in bed to bloody marys to cubs, to chocolate godiva and the sisterhood of the traveling sugar dress! Details to follow…we’re really drunk right now! Cheers!

  17. sb-emy says:

    hey guys,

I have a dilemma, pot SD doesn’t like to use condoms – he’s tested and has been in a marriage, with two sons etc. I, however, need to find a safe and reliable contraceptive, has any women here been on depo provera and side effects?

  18. carebear says:

Did anyone else hear about how the erotic section of craigslist got shut down? I have never bothered with this but always check it to see what people are actually posting compared to these sites…..I have to wonder how its going to affect this site and others…..hmmm….

  19. Bahama_babe says:

It would be good if a sd could have the option to Quick reply to an email with: ” I’m sorry but you’re not my type “

  20. Yaz says:

Happy Bday Lily and Bibaby 🙂

  21. Yaz says:

Bibaby~ Sorry about your experience. I am glad you were not harmed or anything…

I never go to a guy’s hotel room on the first date. Period. If you have a “gift” for me, I will gladly wait for you in the lobby. Giving me “transportation money” should be done after dinner as I am getting in my cab ( I mean you have opened your wallet to pay for dinner so why do you need to go get money in your room when your wallet is right there?) If he insists , I just tell him that I have some extra money on me anyways ( which I always do because you never know) and I can get home by myself. Problem solved 🙂

    Better be safe than sorry.

Don’t go to his room if you are not ready to be pressured into having sex with him, and/or giving him some kind of free “test drive” to see if there is chemistry or not. So many shady wannabe SDs like to ask for those test drives!

I usually have to go out of town to meet pot SDs so my safety is paramount! I always listen to my instincts and no amount of money will make me go up to a stranger’s hotel room on the first date. I apply this to IRL dates as well. Call me paranoid but I do NOT want to be “the girl in the newspapers who got murdered by some guy she met online” 🙁

  22. SpoilMe says:

    Hi Sugars!!

@Ms. Taken, thank you so much for your advice. It’s funny you mentioned the alien abduction cuz that’s exactly what I asked him in a text. He jokingly “admitted” to it and said he had returned now to begin an arrangement with me. We ended up texting back and forth for a while and agreed to meet this week when he’s in town (since I dont have any other dates on those days) I’m still hesitant about it, but I usually give second chances so what the hell. If he poofs again I’ll be annoyed but that will be the end of it.

@BrownEyedGal: I agree, in ‘real life’ the same thing has happened to me as well and I made sure the guy was serious coming back into the relationship because I gave him a really hard time in the beginning. I think he enjoyed my bitchy behavior because men like the chase so he came back stronger than the first time and it was a very fun 6 months! Needless to say he’s full of issues, as most Taureans are no offense to any Taureans here lol, so I dumped him 🙂

@Bicentennial Baby, I’m sorry about your experience. I was invited to a hotel room after a first date earlier this summer, with a similar offer (to check out his new car pictures in his laptop) but I had a gut feeling to end the night early and run! lol I can’t wait to hear your story!

Happy Birthday to all the Virgos!

  23. So... says:

Not sure if anyone said this before. Something I think would be more effective and is the most important factor in all of this, would be to open up the dollar amounts so we can state a minimum but not be cornered into settling for less. I do not want to be seen saying I will only take $3-5000 when in fact, I’m saying a minimum of $3000 and preferably $10,000 or more. A lot depends on the time the guy is looking for.

I just say Amount Negotiable because I do not want to rule out high rollers, but it opens me profile up to every guy looking for a dinner date.

Maybe another feature should be for the men to say what kinds of schedules they have. It would eliminate a lot of guesswork.

  24. Michael AZ Alleycat says:

BiBaby – if somebody has made you a favorite, they can still see your profile even if you have hidden it. I am pretty sure of this.

  25. Beach_Girl says:

Lily~ Happy Birthday, Sweet girl xoxox Hope you had an awesome day!

Malia & Bi Baby~ Happy Birthday, hope it was awesome!

  26. Bela says:

I am brand spankin’ new to this, but I do like the idea of a desired ethnicity option. I personally don’t have a major preference, but I know a lot of people do. Nothing against men wanting the perfect Barbie doll (I am a realist) but at least if I know what they want, I don’t waste their time.

  27. Lily says:

    Wise tip, Bibaby!

  28. So... says:

Bicentennial BabyYes that is weird. Probably not intentional but safety is important.

  29. Bicentennial Baby says:

I have an even WEIRDER thing happening…I have hidden my profile for over a week and FOUR new guys contacted me!

will tell my horrid hotel story soon I promise, off to Bday party. NEVER go to the guys hotel room EVER to get your 1.) gift, 2.) transportation money or 3.) talk to him while he “gets something upstairs”.

  30. Midwest SB says:

Malia, Bi Baby and Lily – Happy Happy Birthday sugars!!!!

I’m off to NYC! Earl can kiss my sweet…..

    Have a fabulous weekend!

  31. Malia says:

    @ Bi
My 23rd Bday was yesterday! =)
    Happy Birthday to all virgos!
I was reading about birthday earlier but I didnt want to just butt in.lol
I read other sb blogs and Im lovin it. Thanks guys for all the help.
My new interest is this blog and other sb experiences. I will soon catch up.lol Have a great day guys!

  32. Malia says:

Thank you guys for all your support and help! I did deleted my account and starting a new one. I wasn’t thinking when I havent been on this site for ever and just remembered my old screen name. But thanks again and Im crossing my fingers for a potential sd.

  33. BrownEyedGal says:

That “Churchill quote” is so funny!

To Lily and Bicentennial Baby ~ Happy Birthday!

    @Michael AZ Alleycat
I don’t see the new features too. I tried in my laptop, mac and pc… I followed the instructions but no luck…perhaps it’s not live yet????

  34. carebear says:

happy birthdays! drinks are on yall now 😉

  35. Lily says:

FreeLikeWater, thanks for the kind sentiments. I agree –to an extent. Some men aren’t into holidays, birthdays, but come through with favors & thoughtfulness other random times, where needed or whatever. But…. I still want my b/day to be a big deal also!!! 🙂

  36. Bicentennial Baby says:

    I’ll be 29 again…oops, 34. Well, close enough. 🙂

Yeah Virgos!!!! I see a lot of us babies that are Virgo chicks.

I’m heading out for errands but later my peeps I am going to tell a little ditty about why we do not go with potentials to their hotel rooms on the first meet. It has to do with my awful experience yesterday. Fortunately another great guy have come to the rescue on restoring my faith that not ALL SD’s are like the one I met, if he can even lay claim to a title like that. I’m going back into the sugarbowl wiser this time, but trying not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I guess one bad experience means I’m in the club now….

  37. Lily says:

Ok, the BF texted. And again at ten after midnight to wish me a happy b-day. If there is no flowers sent tomorrow, though…

    hell hath no fury! 😉

  38. carebear says:

I threw my laptop, no changes. Geek squad has it now.

  39. FreeLikeWater says:

    another great Churchill quote!

I empathize about your birthday. 🙁 This year I ripped off Alice in Wonderland and had an un-birthday party. I refused to admit that I was broke, abandoned by (yet still living with) my husband, and turning 32. i’m not sure if anyone but me understood the concept, but I got to celebrate and be in denial at the same time!

You’re obviously a sweetheart and deserve to have fun. anyone who doesn’t have special birthday plans for you doesn’t deserve you.

  40. Lily says:

(should add about the b-day that I have zero plans with anyone to celebrate. Boohoo)

  41. Lily says:

Day from hell in my regular life. And the BF hasn’t even texted, which is weird. And it’s my birthday tomorrow.

  42. Michael AZ Alleycat says:

Anybody else having trouble see the new features? I have cleared cache, rebooted, cleared everything, and still I only see the old site. Windows Vista, Firefox, new Sony laptop Vaio, all software has been updated.

I have done everything except through my laptop out the window, though I think that is next.

  43. Yaz says:

Stormizzle!! ( Sorry, I couldn’t come up with anything better haha) Didn’t mean to ignore you last night but I went to bed right after I posted my comment….

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend! 🙂

Will definitely enjoy mine and get pleeeeenty of rest. Next three weeks are going to be busy busy busy for me.

    Aurevoir mes sucres! 🙂

  44. VillaCypris says:

    james.m —— !!!!!

    i love that quote as well…. 🙂

  45. VillaCypris says:

@bicentennial baby – how fun! when MOA first opened back in the 1990s, it was quite a tourist destination. people would fly in on direct flights from tokyo and hong kong just to shop there for a few days, then leave.

yes, i know minnetonka quite well. was just out there wed night. and the IDS, lots of my friends have offices there. winter is spectacular, especially, as you said, window shopping on nicollet mall while the snow flakes fall.

glad you had a good time here!!

  46. James.m says:

Churchill was once seated across from Lady Astor (I think) at dinner. At one point, she said:
“Mr. Churchill, if you were my husband, I’d put poison in your tea.”
To which he replied, “Lady Astor, if you were my wife, I’d drink it.”

  47. Naughty Molly says:

FreeLikeWater ~ I like to put voluptuous in my profile; it sounds oh so sexy…GOOD LUCK 😀

  48. JSB says:

Hey everyone. Sorry haven’t had a chance to post in a while. I am at the airport in South Carolina waiting for my flight to NYC. Hoping things go smooth bc of Earl bit so far so good.

Hope everyone is doing great… I am going to catch up on the blog and check out the new features … Merci SA

  49. Lily says:

God the weather here sucks. And I gots a date in Boston on Tuesday I hope I make (crossing fingers that my flight to America isn’t cancelled!)!!

  50. Stormcat says:

Yazamataz ~ Hey! I see you’re up late too!

  51. Stormcat says:

On the subject of what I would like to see on the SA web site. 1) I would like a spell checker. and 2) If I do make a mistake I would like to just be able to correct it rather than have to post again with the correction.

  52. Yaz says:

    Midwest~ I understand your frustration 🙁
Have to go to NYC this Sunday to pick up my mom from JFK. She is coming from Morroco and I am really hoping her flight doesnt get delayed or cancelled…

  53. Bicentennial Baby says:

Hey! No, not currently, lived in Minnetonka though about 15yrs ago and went back with my tyke and her BFF to MOA for a spend some $ and burn 2 free airline tix weekend. It was fun!!! I do love MN though.

I’m an east coast/DC girl now though your part of the world is beautiful indeed. I MISS it at Christmastime, my stepdad worked in the IDS tower off Hennepin & Nicollette Mall and I remember the window shopping and the snow during the holiday season was incredible!

    @Midwest SB,
Earl is calming down now, hoping you can get out on your flight(s) soon! You’ll have to email me (and Lily/Cleo/any of my other SB sisters) about today’s events, I’m dying to spill…

  54. Reddamsel38 says:

    It’s actually 12:50 here.

  55. Reddamsel38 says:

How is everyone this evening? I know it’s late (NY). But I just had to drop a line before bed. I feel the luv on this blog and you guys and gals are so positive and helpful. Just had to put that out there. G’night.

  56. Reddamsel38 says:

yeah new features. Thanks so much. I never 2 pics was enough just finding one good one had me sweating. But 10 i could definitely work with that.
    @Midwest your the bestest.:)!!!! Thanks.

  59. Beach_Girl says:

    VC~ Hey girl!!!

  60. VillaCypris says:

Bicentennial Baby – I noticed you mentioned MOA — are you in the state in which that is located?? Just curious… as I am… 🙂

  61. VillaCypris says:

    thanks BrownEyedGal… it’s a great quote! xx

  62. FreeLikeWater says:

Bicentennial Baby – I will–thank you so much for offering. 🙂

BrownEyedGal – I like it! Haven’t had any motivation to lose weight after husband taking off–I’m going to take this new venture as my brand new motivation. Thank you!

  63. Ms. Taken says:

Midwest – they probably took him so they could investigate that rare, special and oft desired species – the SD. However, they quickly determined that he was unsuitable for their studies because he lacked that certain…how do you say…je nais sais quois and unceremoniously returned the dolt.
    Um…enough already – I should probably stop now 😉

btw-re Earl, sending calming thoughts into the universe now. The hurricane I can smooth out…airline scheduling?? now that’s a toughie 🙂
    Happy trails, anyway.

  64. BrownEyedGal says:

    Hello sugar world,

@MsTaken I like your advice to SB SpoilMe about the pot who poofed. It happened to me and I felt the same. What ever reasons the said pot have, it’s not worth a second chance. If that happened in real life, the guy will have a lot of courting and convincing to do to get a second chance.

Since I decided to enter the sugar world, I became more determined to eat healthy, exercise and do all kinds of beauty prep to be ready for that date’ and even if I have not met the right ‘pot’ yet, I’ve been enjoying the attention I’m getting from the guys ‘IRL’. They noticed the diffefrence. It’s a good motivation to exercie and loose weight and adapt a healthy eating habit in deed!

I too love your “Churchill quote”.

    Goodnight everyone!

  65. Ms. Taken and Midwest SB – thanks for the open arms and good advice (no wonder I never fit in on the playground!) 🙂

    Safe travels, everyone!

  66. Bicentennial Baby says:

    Good evening sugars!

Back from two pot SD meets today. I was fortunate in being able to combine trips.

without going into particulars, one meet was as bad as the other one was terrific. 🙂

I realize now why we have apprehension sometimes…its because our subconscious recognizes things our conscious mind does not.

    GREAT new pics baby!!!

if you need support, email me at bicentennialsugarbaby at the yahoo …I’ve been a stuck single divorced mother before myself kiddo, been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

  67. Midwest SB says:

Beach – it’s not the issue of Earl hitting NYC. It’s the havoc it wreaks as flights trying to get from somewhere else in the East Coast become delayed or grounded causing other flights to be affected. The airlines are actually encouraging people traveling to EWR to reschedule or accept their cancellation vouchers.

Ms. Taken – It may have been a “dead zone” where the aliens took him…happens all the time. 🙂 Then again, maybe the probe causes signal interference.

  68. Ms. Taken says:

*extending arm* Welcome to the playground, FLW. You won’t find any malice here though 🙂 Just continue participating in discussions and giving your kind support and before you know it you’ll feel right at home.

If you pose a question or raise a topic and it gets overlooked – just wait for an opening like you would on the playground or cocktail party and pose it again 😉

Have you tried to cut/paste? That’s what I use (others may be able to suggest something more technologically advanced).

Extending same warm welcome to you, SpoilMe.

About that pot who poofed – that’s what we call it when a pot or SD disappears (into thin air). I wouldn’t give him a second chance for these reasons: he was rude and inconsiderate and is not likely to have acquired the proper manners before you see him again (should you reschedule); you don’t want to set this kind of precedent by giving the impression that it’s OK to treat you/your time this way; he told you by his actions that he’s not quality SD material so consider this info as heads-up and N-E-X-T him.

This may sound harsh but on which other planet is this behaviour acceptable? He doesn’t even give a bad reason/excuse? You’re not even worth that to him? Who in your life currently you would accept that kind of behavior from? And to show up now as if nothing happened…the gall.

However, if it turns out that the poor guy was kidnapped by aliens then you could forgive him. Still, they don’t have phones wherever they took him?!? 🙂

  69. Beach_Girl says:

Midwest~ I don’t think it’s going to be a problem…. isn’t Earl passing way out of NYC??? Not sure if it’s going to affect you there much… Maybe a little cooler and some rain

  70. Midwest SB says:

Beach Girl and NYC SB – I know you think I ‘m being a super wimp, but I this kind of thing completely unnerves me 🙁 The airlines can’t run on schedule or keep enough flight crews on when the weather is good. ***pulling hair*** I’m so frustrated!

  71. NYC SB says:

Midwest… NYC Sd said that he will call his people and handle that 😉

  72. Beach_Girl says:

Midwest~ hopefully, the weather will not dampened your festivities !!!

  73. Midwest SB says:

I’m so mad at Hurricane Earl right now :(((((((

  74. Midwest SB says:

VC – hahahaha!!! Maybe I should set a new standard for “itty bitty” “:-) Then size 8 will be the new size 0….wake up, wake up!

FreeLikeWater – You’ve received great advice. I used my allowance to cover personal training and it does make a world of difference. Then again, I know sbs who use flights of stairs in their buildings to do cardio. I’m not the most disciplined person in the world when it comes to exercise, so the personal trainer keeps me on task and I get great results. Great news on the hiking too…look up geocaching and see if you can make each hike a new adventure!

If it helps any, I”m a size 8 with curves and do not have a challenge meeting sds. Of course, the curves are in all the right places 🙂 One thing I learned in my 30s…If you believe you look great and tell a man you like your body, he will too.

  75. VillaCypris says:

    Oh good… 🙂 I’m happy to hear that….

    you’re beautiful now, so enjoy!!!

I do, too…. it was told to me by a dear friend of mine who was at that dinner party…. many moons ago….

  76. Thank you, VillaCypris–I understood your intention perfectly. 🙂

And I love that Churchill quote!

  77. VillaCypris says:

Lest that post be miscontrued, as sometimes I tend to be opaque in my references… my point is that for anyone, “weight”, the excess of, or absence of, is something which can be altered (minus incurable physical or mental abnormalities)….

    anyhow, I’m off to dinner.

    buona serata tutti ———–

  78. VillaCypris says:

    FreeLikeWater ————

the ‘nice’ thing about ‘weight’ is that with smart choices regarding exercise and nutrition, it can be LOST! It’s something over which YOU have control, and if you really are inspired and motivated, you can do it!!

It reminds me of this quote by Winston Churchill… ““’You are drunk Sir Winston, you are disgustingly drunk. ‘Yes, Mrs. Braddock, I am drunk. But you, Mrs. Braddock are ugly. But, tomorrow morning, I, Winston Churchill will be sober.”

So, as others have mentioned, be CONFIDENT in yourself as you are now, and highlight your wonderful smile, vibrant personality… and if your weight/shape is something which you desire to change, it can be accomplished!

  79. If anyone can tell me how to properly “quote” from other people’s posts, I’d be very grateful! 🙂

  80. Ms. Taken,

Thanks so much for your advice. Sometimes writing on a blog as a newcomer can feel like being back on the playground where no one wants to play with you! I appreciate being noticed. 🙂

You’re right–including anything about dissatisfaction with my body on my profile would definitely be shooting myself in the foot! And in further interactions with pot SDs, I hope no one would be put off by the fact that I’m working on developing a more active lifestyle (for eg. showing my enthusiasm about the trails I’ve been hiking) in the same way that I’d show enthusiasm about a new movie or book.

I’ll just highlight my smile and cleavage in the pics and focus on my personality! Yes, it’s me in the avatar, although an older pic, but thank you. 🙂

[So, how about you keep weight loss as one of your (private) goals and use the money from your SD to get a gym membership or personal trainer to whip you into shape]

This is great–thank you. I have many goals other than weight loss that would be much more palatable. 🙂 And you’re right: by the time I’ve read through blogs and put in the research time, I’ll likely be closer to a weight that makes me happy.

[Of course, good luck in whatever you choose to do and you will find lots of valuable, kind support and advice here at the blog.]

Thank you, Ms. Taken. I’m feeling supported already. 🙂

  81. VillaCypris says:

Midwest – there was an article in the UK Telegraph today about women with SMALL chests wanting to showcase their “smaller assets” and how designers are paying note… I haven’t read it yet, but as soon as I saw the headline, chuckled, as it brought to mind the rude little titty comment someone sent to you. ha. 😉

  82. VillaCypris says:

    Hi all —

Malia – I see you have a rather “old” profile number… 158xxx… sometimes people look askance at that, thinking you have been on SA for a long time but haven’t found anyone…. months ago, OC made a suggestion, which is to delete the older profile entirely, and create a new one… with a “higher” number, which will attract more attention.

may be worth a try, especially with your beautiful new photos!!

  83. Midwest SB says:

Great pics Malia!!! Some lucky SD will get the rest…don’t send them to pots just yet.

  84. Malia says:

Thank you BI Baby. I changed my photos. I hope this works out for me!

  85. SpoilMe says:

    Hello everyone!

I’ve been lurking around for about 2 months now and I love this blog! I have to say thank you to all those who share their stories and wonderful advice and tips with the rest of us. I’m fairly new to the sugar world as well as this site so it gets tough sometimes and I often feel discouraged, but reading about other peoples experiences definitely makes a difference. At times I get carried away with all the new pots that I’m chatting with and at times I feel lost, but this blog has given me wings and also helped me stay grounded. Thank you!

Now, so that I won’t be totally off topic: I think all of the new features sound great but I still haven’t seen any of them yet. I especially liked the Winks idea, which sounds a lot like a feature from another site I’m a member of (which isn’t half as good as this one, of course) because I find that its an easier way to contact a SD without having to think of what to say! (I don’t like to approach guys first you see) That way he can see that you’re interested and if he is too he’ll do the writing. If not, then he will just ignore it and you won’t feel as bad being rejected. 😛
The Online Now Search is also a sweet idea!

Ps. What do you think about SDs who fall off the face of the Earth after mutual interest has been confirmed and even a date to meet has been set, then return 2 months later with no explanation whatsoever.. How does one go about letting a pot Sd know that this behavior is not appreciated. I’ve been contemplating whether it’s worth giving him another try or just ignore him. I’m currently sugar free btw.
    Thanks in advance!

  86. Ms. Taken says:

Good Evening sugars! A bit of catching up to do here –

  87. Ms. Taken says:

@FreeLikeWater~IMHO, while you are welcome to include in your profile that you’re looking for a “weight-loss SD”, I wouldn’t recommend it. From what I understand here on the blog and IRL, men find a woman who exudes self confidence the most attractive. Mentioning that weight loss part may send the message that you’re uncomfortable with your current body type and therefore may be self-conscious which might read as insecure.

Maybe it would serve you better to advertise at your present weight and attract the SD who goes weak for curvier women than for one who would want to “improve” you. Better still to take some killer photos which show your best features and punch up your profile narrative to spotlight your fun personality and the value you’ll be adding to the SD/SB experience. If that’s you in the avatar – it should be easy 😉

Besides you might find it more ego-boosting to have an SD worships you than one who eyes your every bite at dinner with the unspoken (or god forbid spoken) question, “You’re going to eat THAT!?”
So, how about you keep weight loss as one of your (private) goals and use the money from your SD to get a gym membership or personal trainer to whip you into shape – At least you’re PAYING him/her to watch what you eat 😉
Or, FLW, maybe you should wait until you get yourself in the shape at which you feel your sexiest, most desirable, irresistable self before you jump into Sugar Dating. Also, if you need a “weight loss buddy” buddy for support, forego the SD and ask someone here on the blog. Example, before BicentennialBaby started her SD search, she did what I personally believe to be rigorous research and preparation. She had also buddied up with BastIsisKali for some mutual support – I say this only because it’s all documented in last month’s blog posts.
Of course, good luck in whatever you choose to do and you will find lots of valuable, kind support and advice here at the blog.

Can you weigh in SBs and SDs?

  88. ElegantSugarBaby says:

I really wish there was a chat room… I know, I know the blog is sorta similar, AOL used to have chats for such friendships, but with all the new looks and changes, they are too hard to find!!

    Hi everyone!!!
Hope the Sugar is sweet and full!!

  89. Lily says:

Exotica – great suggestion!!!! Type of arrangement preferred should be a box to check & criteria one can search, and also, “open to out of town people.”

  90. Thanks for the support on the body-type issue, Cleo! 🙂

    (I’m the naturally curvy/out-of-shape/overweight girl!)

The financial support, fun and laughs I’m assuming one finds in a successful MBR could also play a part in losing weight. For eg. If your last real-life LTR was stressful, you may have gained weight due to eating food that was comforting and quick to prepare, like cereal and toast. Having the extra money and encouragement to buy and prepare meals with more protein and vegetables could definitely contribute to weight loss (speaking from experience!)

The trouble would be finding a pot SD who wants to support you (financially and more) in your goal to lose weight just like he might in your goal to pay off debts. I’ve never left a guy just because he gained 40 pounds, but I understand completely if a guy who signs up to be an SD is turned off by a girl who needs to lose weight. The women here are expected to be young and beautiful!

Does anyone have any insight into this? (Please be gentle! And yes, I do know *how* to lose weight–my sudden gain was a combo of medication, emotional eating due mainly to relationship troubles; then living below the poverty line when previously mentioned spouse took off.)

    Hope everyone is well! 🙂

  91. Beach_Girl says:

Michael~ funny… thanks but my Bday is in may lol…

    Carebear~YAY… drinks on you!

Hope everyone has a great day!

  92. Exotica says:

    Awesome additions!!!!

Maybe there could be an option of the type of SD/SB you are, like travel, allowance, gifts or all… It´s sad when you are emailing with someone you like and realize they are looking for someone to travel with but you are not available because of your work, or you are in need of an allowance instead of money spent on gifts…

  93. Carebear – you can hide your profile.

When you unhide it, make some changes, change the photos, and it will pop to the top of the list again.

  94. Happy birthday BeachGirl!!

  95. B says:

    Hi All,
long time no post. No sugar love here but I am still very much enjoying the blog NYC SB! Perhaps a live chat room would be a great addition to SA. Nothing sordid or directly sexual, but something similar to the blog for people to chat and possibly connect in real time. Also, nothing to do with the website functionality and its not like I would be able to attend (unless someone wants to pay my way!) but perhaps you could run one of your mixers but aimed at your gay clients. I am of course not sure of what kind of response you would garner, but I am sure that NYC could handle it. If you need someone to organise I am sure that even though I am on the other side of the world (Australia) me and my trusty MacBook could plan a killer party.

  96. NYC SB says:

Lol michael – my sentiments exactly about the inbox reply feature

  97. Yay new features! I might just have to upgrade now…

@BastIsisKali I was just thinking the same thing about having a chat room! I think it would be a great resource, like the blog but in real time!

One PotSD I thought was promising is now out the window. We just didn’t have the right chemistry. So now it’s back to the drawing board. I may be having a coffee date this evening, but we got to the “expectations” conversation a bit late, so we’ll have to see if we match up before I know we’re still on.

Overall though, I’m feeling pretty optimistic. I think getting that first PotSD out of the way somehow boosted my confidence in the whole experience. Going out on a couple dates and not hitting it off, then parting amicably took some of the pressure off. Before I think I felt like I needed to try too hard to impress PotSDs. Now I see the experience as being more like regular dating: you put your best foot forward and try to make a good impression, but chemistry is key and that isn’t something under your control.

Overall, it’s been a pretty good week. I hope you’re all doing well and staying positive!

  98. carebear says:

alright alright drinks are on me, even though my birthday was yesterday.

  99. Stormcat says:

Happy Birthday BG ~ Wow you and carebear have the same birthday! What are the chances of that?

  100. Beach_Girl says:

Carebear~ HA I’m 38th hahhahh too funny! Hope you feel better !

  101. Carebear – happy birthday!! Have a great day!!

  102. carebear says:

LOL yall its not my birthday but thank you for being so sweet anyway….earlier i was saying “I’m 20th” as in I was the 20th person to post on this blog….I was being a nerd. Bad joke. =(

But everyone is more than welcome to crawl in bed w/ me =)

I just bought a ton of new sheets to avoid the bed bug scare….

  103. cleo says:

SA: we want multiple word body type options please

like me, i am slim AND athletic AND curvy

i used to be athletic and curvy

but i’m not just one of them. please allow us to ‘check’ body type words and give us a dozen or so options

    few extra pounds
    never met a slurpee i didn’t like

  104. BastIsisKali says:

    Hello again everyone!

I am excited about the new features. Someone mentioned having IM as a feature here and that would be great. I also think adding a chat room feature would be wonderful.

Happy birthday carebear! I would love to join you for House re-runs.

I’m moving on Monday so I have been busy, busy, busy. Anyone want to join me for a moving sale and final scrubbing down of my apartment? I agree…crawling in bed with Carebear to watch House reruns sounds *much* better.

  105. Continuing from the previous blog post…

    Naughty Molly says:
    August 23, 2010 at 6:44 pm
Someone commented on the previous post about how she was concerned with her body type. Let me just say that I have a voluptuous figure and I haven’t had any issues with finding a SD. I’ve had many complements on my body. Be confident and proud of who you are! There is nothing sexier than a condident woman.

    Hi Naughty Molly,
Thanks so much for your encouraging comments. 🙂
So what exactly do you say on your profile when describing your body type? Do you say “Curvy” or “Voluptuous”?
I’d love to hear more details if you’d like to contact me privately.
Thanks again! You’re right that more than half my reason for wanting to lose weight is to be fit and healthy–not just to look good for someone else. Your advice to be confident is something I need to tell myself every day! 🙂

  106. Bicentennial Baby says:

    Good evening sugars!

Two meets with pot SD’s coming up in the next 7 days, one tomorrow!! I’m getting excited! Nails done, new haircut, toes painted and picked out my cute top and super awesome dressy jeans with heels. (lunch date). I have a great feeling and also 2 other wonderful SD’s who are emailing me…they know I am meeting some gentlemen who emailed me before they did but both have been polite and understanding of the fact I just didn’t hear from them first. Only one or two weirdos, all the rest have been very nice.

Ok, ok I’ll keep you in mind anytime I need a fabulous explanation for various activities…you have a future writing naughty stories, you know that? I need a shower half the time after reading your posts 😉

You’re such a beautiful girl, I don’t understand the photos? Reminds me of a pot SD who has relentlessly emailed me who while very handsome and “cut”, is overdoing it on letting me know just how hot he is. If it’s going to be more than a p2p or a few weeks of an arrangement, I would imagine any pot SD or SB wants to know what the heck you are going to talk about and do (other than the benefits portion of the arrangement) the other 80% of the time you are together?? What about inbetween visits when you call or email? You can always send those photos later in the exchange once you feel comfortable that it’s ok to do so but I still would be hesitant to do so. let your SD find out just how hot you are when he meets you in person! (that’s how mine is going to have to judge me, I tell you that!)

Your profile itself is well written, it’s much more in depth than the photos show you to be as a person. Maybe put up a photo of you doing your favorite sport/activity/visiting a place and keep the headshot, and add one of you in a bikini or shorts or little black dress to show how hot you are. Good luck!

  107. Midwest SB says:

BTW – for those of you waiting for return e-mails, my live.com account is experiencing technical difficulties.

  108. Midwest SB says:

Carebear – Try re-writing your profile and adding some new pictures.

  109. cleo says:

carebear: taking down your photos has a similar effect…

  110. carebear says:

Can you suspend your account? Not cancel it, but deactivate for a while or something? You’re not supposed to keep your house on the market for extended periods of time so buyers won’t think you’re motivated to sell…..I’ve noticed that the longer I’m on the site, the less frequent the emails come in. Quite frankly I still can’t handle all of them, and have enough potentials rolling that I’m sure something will come about. Should I take my profile down completely and add again if neccessary in the future?

  111. BrownEyedGal says:

Can you control the photo settings to not appear to selected area, City or Country?

Also profile privacy settings not to appear to non-members.

  112. Midwest SB says:

Malia – You are a lovely lady, but your pictures suggest you might be here for reasons other than being a sugar baby. It would help to be clear about what message you are sending.

  113. Malia says:

Haven’t even got a message on here yet. Hopefully soon…*sigh* They should have IM on here probably will make it easier. But who knows, would love to meet my first sd. Anyone from Portland?

  114. Dandelion Wine says:

Storm, ah! Thanks for the passage. It is now clear to me that I am an existentialist as opposed to “don’t know what the hell I want” haha

  115. Blog Gods – in the Mailbox section, can you add a flag that shows if the email has been replied to or not? I tend to wait for a day or two before I reply to emails, so it is a bit of a pain. This should be a simple addition.

    Many thanks.

  116. Stormcat says:

Carebear ~ try an existential kiss. Kirekegard states that you will regret whatever you do. So as you slowly approach a kiss think – If I kiss him I will regret it and If I don’t kiss him I’ll regret it. Embrace the uncertainty, the humanness of being able to resist and the humanness of being unable to resist. Approach regret withdraw regret approach regret withdraw regret, getting closer and closer each time ,and eventually, invariably ,your lips will touch, and you will be kissing, and you will regret it, so, you simply give in to your inability to resist it, but now that you are kissing, you must realize that, if you stop kissing, you will regret it, and if you continue kissing, you will regret it. Start to break it off, but then don’t and decide to continue the kiss, but then decide to break it off, and start to break it off, but then decide to continue, etc. Eventually, you will actually break it off, and you will get to feel the regret for not having continued, and wonder whether, if you had continued, what you would have experienced. Then you get to start the whole thing over again. What a joy!

  117. carebear says:

hahaha its not my birthday i was saying i’m 20th, as in the 20th person to post. sorry =(

thank you though! ill remember that in feb!

  118. Midwest SB says:

    Happy, happy Birthday Carebear!

    Stormy – YES!

  119. carebear says:

    I’m 20th!

I have a head ache I’m hungover. Who wants to come lay in bed and watch House re runs with me all day???

I’m gonna be useless at work.

I wish I knew how to kiss like storm. I usually just bite the person’s face off.

  120. Lily says:

I am glad we discussed sugarlife + irl BFs and how they can coexist.
I think as long as no exclusivity has been explicitly agreed upon, it’s anon-issue. And I guess I just won’t think of becoming exclusive with a guy who can’t help financially support my basic needs, here & there (as truly necessary).

  121. adoc says:

michael- lots of chemistry :). no $ yet though- so we will see how it pans out. 🙂 we both agreed though so just needa chat about it

  122. Noir says:

I love the new additions coming. I’m not sure if this is a good idea or not, but perhaps having a preferred ethnicity on one’s profile, and the possibility to search according to that as well.

  123. Bicentennial Baby says:

Oh Stormy you make that sound just oh so fun! *wicked grin*

If it’s like that I have nothing to fear…

  124. Stormcat says:

Kissing is not merely a prelude to sex! It is an experiential pleasure in its own rite. A kiss expresses feeling, passion, love, friendship, romance, etc. A romantic kiss is best begun with the couple gazing into each other’s eyes, then gentle caressing with the fingertips, a drawing toward one another, a long soft touching of the lips together, and finally an exchange of subtle smiles. A passion kiss however requires heat, urgency, and a touch of danger. There is no holding back. The heart is racing and the breathing is heavy. Sexual desire lurks beneath and if consummated orgasm follows quickly.

OK I’m off to bed now. Good night everyone! 🙂

  125. NYC SB says:

Ny gent – yes, but why can’t there be an indicator on the email itself (similar to most email structures) saying it was replied … Most dating sites have this feature… As does my least favorite sd site

  126. Beach_Girl says:

    Hello sugars!
Oh it sounds awesome to have, but I don’t have any of those new features yet. I can’t wait to see how it all works…
Hope everyone had a great day

  127. Yaz says:

    Chicago SB~ Very nice pics!

  128. NYGent says:

NYC SB: can’t you just look at your “sent mail” to tell you to whom you’ve responded? If you have incoming from somebody and not a corresponding outgoing doesn’t it tell you that you didn’t respond (or am I misunderstanding?)

  129. bicentennial baby says:

    @Midwest SB,

Good points, and I definitely will let him take the lead and explain to him that I’m probably not as “proficient” as perhaps he is but I don’t mind learning! I’m not big on it because my husband is not, although he is very, very affectionate in so many other ways that I don’t miss it.

As to oral, well, I am 99% certain I’ll get an A in that department when/if the time comes–that’s as much a favorite back at my house as I imagine it might be at yours too. *LOL* I don’t know a single happy hubby that doesn’t have that on his wish list. 🙂

It’s not a deal breaker, I am probably just overanalyzing things. Our meet is confirmed now for later this week so I’m actually pretty excited and just overthinking things. Probably the best thing I can do is just go, have fun and if we both do that, things will work out just fine.

  130. Midwest SB says:

    From the prior blog:
BiBaby – If he’s single, make sure you set expectations up front…not just stating in your profile, but making sure he understands you are not looking to change your family life.

As for the art of kissing…every guy is different, so follow his lead. I have to say that if you tell him you don’t like to kiss, he will likely wonder if you like to do “other” things like oral, etc. Sorry, but guys love that stuff and it could come off the wrong way. Since this is your issue and not his, try having mints handy. stopping occasionally for a sip of something, or finding ways to compromise. Personally, I find kissing to be very sexual and passionate. Bad breath can go away…a great kiss can linger well after he is gone 🙂

    Evening sugars!

Nice changes SA! One final suggestion is when browsing/searching to include marital status in the summary.

  133. NYC SB says:

How about the most crucial change of all… The ability to know whether or not one has replied to an email… When I search I get many emails and lose track of whom I replied to and whom I did not…

  134. bicentennial baby says:

I really like this, although would the winks somehow take the place of sending an email? I would so much rather know that someone wants to take the time to drop me a line rather than just a “wink”.

Definitely glad about the increase in # of pictures, I think that really helps us figure out different sides of a person or just more about them in general (are they fashion forward? into traveling? a golf or football fanatic? pet lover?) that would help narrow down the search to closer matches.

the radius thing might prove interesting, I just hope people will continue to search not just their own city but others as well, many of us are travel babies and really don’t mind coming to see a SD on his own home turf or as it may be with me, meeting him while traveling on business. But the changes sound great!
