Dear Seeking.com Community,
As many of you may be aware, the House Committee on Ethics released a report on December 23, 2024, regarding Former House Representative Matt Gaetz. We would like to set the record straight regarding the details of the report, and overall, regarding this situation.
First, we have said it before and will say it again: We are not aware of any evidence that Former Representative Matt Gaetz has ever been a member of Seeking.com (and we’ve done our due diligence).
Seeking.com was created to promote relationships between people who want to be honest and upfront about what they want out of their relationships. The site caters to success-minded people who are looking for what makes them happy, whether it is romance, travel, luxury, freedom, or whatever it is they aspire to in their connections. People introduce themselves on the site and, if they feel a connection, they take it from there on their own— just like any other dating site.
Second, unlawful conduct like prostitution has never been permitted on Seeking.com. We remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting our members from would-be bad actors. To this end, we employ an around-the-clock, world-wide system of technological and human safeguards that include the following:
- Selfie Liveness Check: Automated Selfie Verification, utilizing state of the art artificial intelligence and anti-spoofing technology to ensure that a real person who matches his/her pictures is behind every profile;
- Sophisticated tiered system to warn, compel acknowledgement, temporarily suspend, and ban offending members who violate our Terms of Use;
- Suspicious login detection system leading to immediate suspensions;
- Automatic Date-of-Birth rechecks for members suspected of being underage, potentially leading to mandatory ID Verification;
- Automated flagging for terms in messages related to compensated dating, underage members and those attempting to find underage members, sex trafficking, scams, and fraud;
- Payment monitoring for suspicious and/or fraudulent card usage;
- Au10tix automated ID Verification with support for two hundred countries;
- A background check verification program that is fully integrated with the Site;
- Human-in-the-loop AI assisted content moderation for photos and text, including contextual analysis to improve identification of potentially more sophisticated potential misusers of the site; and
- Our member reporting system with evidence submission and measured response times.
These efforts have frustrated those would-be bad actors over the years. One recently inquired on a public forum —after failing our new Selfie Liveness Check, “Has anyone who has been banned from seeking had any success getting back on?”
The answer to that was, concretely: no.
Third, Seeking.com has rebranded and reworked the site, starting more than ten years ago, specifically to combat misuse. This became necessary as, over time, people attempted to find a home for their particular brand of misbehavior, sometimes trying to relabel their conduct as “sugar” dating or similar terms. Seeking.com responded by increasing the types of terminology and conduct that results in users being banned from the site. These users were not welcome then and are not welcome now. For more on our historical evolution, click here.
Finally, Seeking.com isn’t for everyone. If you are thinking about joining the site, please review our Terms of Use.
We promote relationships built on full-disclosure, honesty, and upliftment, between consenting adults of legal age, and with slightly bigger dreams than most. Beyond that, Seeking might not be for you. We remain steadfast in our mission to create a safe dating space for our users, and to continue to uphold the values by which this platform was created.
With love and respect,
Seeking.com
